On Mission: Compassion

As we begin the summer months here at CrossPoint, we are going to take some time to remind ourselves who we are.  There are values that we have and actions that we practice that set us apart from others.  Sometimes, we need to be reminded of who we are and what kind of people we are called to be.  The short word for this is “mission.”  What does it mean to be “On Mission”?
Have you ever noticed that some people are really smart with books, but not so smart when it comes to people?  And that sometimes people are really good at understanding other people, but aren’t always very trustworthy in how they treat others?  And sometimes, people can be very religious, but somehow miss the point of being a compassionate and kind human being?
This Sunday at 5 PM, we are going to look at some of these oddities of life and how Jesus gets to the essence of life in a parable he told about a man who was beaten and left by the side of the road to die. We are going to focus on one of the pillars of who we are at CrossPoint: Compassion.
